Sunset date set by
DCTZ Commission for promotion of businesses outside of the DC Tourism
Zone.
Details
(Please note - as the
primary vendor of marketing for Door County, the Door County Visitor
Bureau has worked very hard to maintain our working relationship with
ALL of our members. As you may know, the City and Townships
outside of the Zone have made great progress and it is our hope that the
above Sunset date will not be needed after all. ALL of our members are
very important to us and we had nothing to do with the actions of the
City of Sturgeon Bay that caused the Tourism Zone Commission to seek the
legal opinion that prompted this notice. Our Goal has
always been to unify the peninsula - not divide it. )

Travel
Green Wisconsin Certified Members!

"I would highly recommend the Travel
Green Wisconsin certification process to other Door County businesses.
At The Cookery, we decided to complete the certification because we felt
that the application process would provide us with a useful tool to help
us analyze ways in which we are already sustainable as well as new
practices and initiatives that could be implemented to lessen our
environmental footprint. Although you can certainly "green" your
business without this certification, the application process prompts you
to think of new avenues to become more sustainable and it is also unique
in that it encourages you to educate your staff and customers of the
certification and your initiatives. I think this education piece is
particularly important because a ripple effect will hopefully be felt as
employees and customers realize that some of your efforts could also be
performed in their own lives."
