Green Wisconsin Certified Members!

"I would highly recommend the Travel
Green Wisconsin certification process to other Door County businesses.
At The Cookery, we decided to complete the certification because we felt
that the application process would provide us with a useful tool to help
us analyze ways in which we are already sustainable as well as new
practices and initiatives that could be implemented to lessen our
environmental footprint. Although you can certainly "green" your
business without this certification, the application process prompts you
to think of new avenues to become more sustainable and it is also unique
in that it encourages you to educate your staff and customers of the
certification and your initiatives. I think this education piece is
particularly important because a ripple effect will hopefully be felt as
employees and customers realize that some of your efforts could also be
performed in their own lives."

SCAMS
We are currently aware of an above average
amount of scams wherein the customer is asking for a sum of money to
be forwarded to them from a larger check or credit card payment.
DO NOT FORWARD CASH TO ANYONE BEFORE YOU VERIFY THE STABILITY OF THE

Keeping Our Community Healthy
Please don't overlook the needs of our local
non-profits. They work to keep our community healthy and strong
and, with your continued support, they will be there to help when
you least expected it. And, it's our local non-profits
that continue to preserve our past and enhance our future. They
are the very force that creates the sublime experience of living here.
Please don't forget them.
Giving a charitable donation to the
non-profit of your choice is a great way to reduce your taxes BUT, did
you know that donating an item you already have, can often benefit you
both. * Here are some items they need...
