Emerging Artists exhibit at Peninsula Art School’s Guenzel Gallery March 25 – April 24, 2004. The PAS Emerging Artist program supports the artistic and professional development of “up and coming” young artists from Northeast Wisconsin.  This year’s Emerging Artists are an especially talented (and diverse) group including: painter, Nik Garvoille; jewelry artist, Barbi Gossen and mixed media artist, Chad Peters.  Chad, Nik and Barbi will be at PAS for the opening reception Saturday, April 2 from 5pm-7pm.

April 3rd - The Door Community Auditorium

will present a program focusing on “Memories in the Making”  at 3 pm.   Information will be provided on Alzheimer’s disease,  including “about” the condition, the victims, the role of the caregiver, and the affect the disease has on the family.  Joanne will share her experiences as a caregiver for her husband, as well as the rewards of teaching the Alzheimer’s patients.  Becky will discuss the specifics of the disease, the physical and mental symptoms, as well as treatments available today.  This program is open to the public and is free of charge.

     The artwork will be on display through mid-April and the public is welcome to visit the Link Gallery during regular Auditorium hours.  The artwork is available for a suggested donation; all proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. 

     The box office is open Monday through Friday, 10 – 4 p.m.; show days, 11 – 4 p.m.; and one prior to a performance.  For additional information contact DCA at 920.868.2728.

"Election 2004: Retrospective" 
Starting at
8:30 am Dr. Scattergood will discuss the overall results of the 2004 election with an emphasis on related topics. The demographics of voter turnout, state ballot initiatives on gay marriage, reasons behind voter choices, and a review of exit polls will be discussed during the presentation. Questions related to the Electoral College and campaign finance will also be addressed. A general discussion on how to evaluate the polls will include audience participation.
Lecture is free to the public. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

April 13th –Cindy Mangsen & Steve Gillette Concert - White Gull Inn–Fish Creek

Steve and Cindy and their partnership Compass Rose Music represent the very best in contemporary and traditional folk music.  One of their concerts is like three acts in one.  Steve’s songs have been recorded by many of folk music’s luminaries including stars like  Don Williams, Kathy Mattea and Garth Brooks.  He sings his songs in a gentle baritone, backed up with a distinctive finger-picking style.  Cindy, a longtime Chicago folk star, is one of the finest and most respected traditional singers on the folk circuit.  Since their marriage in 1989, their sound has combined the pop-savvy groove of Gillette with Mangsen’s interpretation of traditional music.

An evening to celebrate Door County's rich nautical heritage and benefit the Door County Maritime Museum & Lighthouse Preservation Society: Sample 30 specialties presented by 23 Door County restaurants for dinner; live and silent auction, wine raffle, and Pooduck skiff raffle. This event is  known  for its exciting nautically themed auction item packages.
