November 20 – Thanksgiving Day Parade – Jacksonport (This parade has the designation of not only being the only Thanksgiving Day Parade actually held on Thanksgiving Day (imagine that) in Wisconsin but it could also be the only parade that you can watch twice - as it makes it way to one end of the town and then turns around for a second pass. ) This tongue-in-cheek turkey-day parade first started in 1997 and has grown a bit each year. It's a fun family event that goes through the heart of Jacksonport - up one side of the street and down the other. The road doesn't close, so if you just happen to be driving through town at the right time you might find yourself in an impromptu float waving at folks watching the parade! No candy necessary, just a good parade wave and a smile. New floats are always welcome - just show up at the Jacksonport Fire Station about 11:30 AM and you're in!
