Do I need another website?

Here are some personal thoughts on the subject

I will need to finish this page but here is the beginning of what I have to offer...

Random Thoughts:

  • The cost of an InnLine subscription for a year, is less than one average little ad in any publication or newspaper.

  • Where did you start your search for information when you traveled to somewhere unfamiliar?   NameOfPlace.com?

  • Since the acquisition of the domain name, DoorCounty.com site visits have shot into the millions!

  • Every promotion the Visitor Bureau produces, features DoorCounty.com - most of the requests for Visitor Guides are from the website.

  • If your business simply needs a "billboard" on the information highway, why not use your InnLine page to do the job?

  • A large number of our members report that over 80% of their web leads come from DoorCounty.com.

  • Over $1.5 Million dollars will be used to refer the traveling public to DoorCounty.com for their Door County information - why not use it to its fullest potential.

Do you need a web designer?  If your needs go beyond a simple web page, you should definitely consider the services of a web site designer.  Contact me for a list of members who specialize in web design for your consideration.  phil@doorcounty.com

You NEED a personal domain name.  Even if your page on DoorCounty.com meets your web needs, you should register a domain that you can promote and drive people directly to YOUR INFORMATION.  If at all possible, I believe it is important to register any possible domain name that your customers may use to find you or, you may use in your marketing.  Especially if you have an easily misspelled name - get it registered to YOU!  I also feel strongly that it's important to activate an e-mail account with your domain as its base.  How many times have you "guessed" at an e-mail?  If you're like me, you have tried an "info@" or "email@" that company's domain name.  Why not you?

There are many sources for registering domain names but, one reasonable service is found at: www.GoDaddy.com

For about $8.95 you could have your own domain name and when you customer types in your domain, they will see your InnLine page BUT, with web forwarding and masking, all they would see at the top would be your domain name.

This sounds confusing but it's not at all.  Please contact me with any questions about this.  Phil  phil@doorcounty.com

e-Commerce.  If you have something to sell, why not give access to your products - to customers who have returned home.  The InnLine system offers an easy to use Shopping Cart feature that will help get you started.  For $125/yr the online store is secure and easy to use.  It is also featured on DoorCounty.com through the Online Store - a great way to show off some of your merchandise to visitors who are checking out our website - almost 2 million individuals A YEAR!   You'll be surprised at the sales you'll make and, because it's online, you don't need to have your store open to make a sale.  As your sales grow, consider the services of Peninsula Web Design to meet your e-commerce needs.  Peninsula Web Design is a member of the Visitor Bureau and can be found online at: www.PeninsulaWebDesign.com

There are a lot of marketing options out there but, I would NEVER overlook the power of InnLine.  It's the least expensive and the most effective marketing tool you have access to.  Don't dismiss the potential.  Phil
